Full time: 32.5 hours per week

Fixed term - This role will be on a temporary basis to assist with the education and care of a named child in school as directed by the Head Teacher. The pupil is currently of primary school age. The post is temporary on an until needed basis or if funding is withdrawn.

Full-time equivalent salary

£24,702 - £27,334 Grade 4 points 8-14 of the NJC scale

What skills and experience we're looking for

  • You will require the following qualifications and must be able to provide original copies of certificates should you be successful:
  • 1.NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent) AND
  • 2.English and maths GCSE grade 4 or above (or equivalent)

  • You will follow the direction of the class teacher
  • You may be required to work away from the classroom on a one-to-one basis
  • You will provide one-to-one support to access educational activities and learning as per the pupils EHCP
  • You will take the lead on feeding the pupil through a gastrostomy site
  • You will liaise with other professionals to support the therapeutic needs of the pupil
  • You will work one-to-one on specific therapeutic intervention programmes, as instructed by therapists
  • You will complete relevant reports and provide additional information to the class teacher as requested
  • You must have at least two years’ experience working as a Grade 4 Teaching Assistant
  • You must have at least one years’ experience of delivering an oral desensitisation programme, as directed by a Speech and Language Therapist
  • You must have at least one years’ experience of working with pupils who have sensory feeding difficulties
  • You must have the knowledge and understanding of the skills required for this post
  • You will be given full training in order for you to support the specific therapeutic needs of the pupil
