Isebrook School is a secondary special school for over 250 awesome students. This role is specifically to work with an amazing student, from our Connected Provision, both in school and within the community. The successful candidate will have the ability to build relationships with young people with Cognition and Learning difficulties and Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs (SEMH). The ideal candidate will have lots of energy and will be creative in implementing a programme that supports the students’ EHCP outcomes, prepares them for Adulthood and their next steps. It is a really exciting role providing a personalised educational provision for young people who find the school environment challenging and need something different! Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement bespoke learning opportunities that will engage and motivate our students.

  • Provide experiences for individual students in the provision linked to EHCP and Preparation for Adulthood outcomes.

  • Liaise with the Work Experience co-ordinator to implement and support meaningful opportunities in the work place.

  • To deliver a bespoke timetable which includes a blend of academic learning and community inclusion, volunteering, travel training etc

  • To support the therapeutic and SEMH needs of the students using Thrive

  • To champion students and work closely with other professionals and families

  • Keep accurate records and risk assessments for activities

  • Engage in continuous professional development

Do you have:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience of working with young people with Special Educational Needs

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patience, passion, creativity and commitment

  • The ability to remove barriers, make a difference

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Previous experience of working in a SEND environment would be essential; excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are also just as important.  We welcome candidates with the suitable experience, motivation, and commitment to apply for the role.
