What skills and experience we're looking for

To support a child with an EHCP, to work with teachers to support teaching and learning, to provide general and specific assistance, to work guidance under the guidance of the classroom teacher.

NVQ level 2 or 3 in Teaching and Initiative

Learning Communication (written and verbal)

Awareness of Health, wellbeing and Problem Solving safety Team working

Awareness of Keeping Children Safe Reflective and Proactive

Awareness of Data protection and Highly motivated confidentiality Sense of humourBasic knowledge of First Aid

  • 1:1 support in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff and provide feedback to the teacher
  • Support 1:1 pupil to understand instructions and support independent learning
  • Support the teacher in behaviour management
  • Support 1:1 pupil in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate
  • Prepare and clear up learning environment and resources, including photocopying, filing and the display and presentation of pupils work and contribute to maintaining a safe environment
