Join Our Team as a Teaching Assistant Supporting a Child 1:1 with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP)

Hours: 31.25 per week (8:30am - 3:15pm, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only)

Contract: Fixed Term until 31 December 2026 (in the first instance)


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work one-to-one with a pupil with an EHCP. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey while being part of a supportive and welcoming school community.

The ideal candidate will be a committed and passionate individual who can work with initiative and collaborate effectively with others to deliver tailored support, helping to secure the best possible outcomes for the pupil.

  • Experience in supporting the individual needs of children.
  • A friendly, flexible approach and strong interpersonal skills, working effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to inclusion and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • Good organisation and a proactive attitude, with a willingness to contribute to the wider life and work of the school.
  • Resilience and the ability to remain calm and positive when responding to the varied and sometimes challenging needs of pupils.
  • An openness to training and professional development tailored to the role and to the specific needs of the child.

  • Provide high‑quality, personalised support that addresses the individual needs of the pupil, enabling them to make meaningful progress.
  • Work collaboratively and build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents/carers and external professionals to promote inclusion and consistency of support.
  • Demonstrate resilience, initiative, and proactive practice when responding to the varied and sometimes challenging needs of pupils.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, including training tailored to the role and the needs of the pupil, whilst contributing to the wider life and work of the school
