Role Overview

Job Title: 1.1 SEND TA

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £13.91 (Grade C)

Hours Per Week: 30 (6 hours each day Monday to Friday - 08:45am-3:30pm with a 15 minute unpaid tea break and 30 minute unpaid lunch break included)

Status: Fixed Term (until approx. 31/08/2028)

Closing Date: 12 Noon on Thursday 1st October 2026

Interview Date: Wednesday 7th October 2026

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with SEND, helping them to overcome barriers to learning, access the curriculum and develop their confidence and independence. The role will involve implementing agreed provision identified within the child’s EHCP and providing tailored support for their learning, emotional regulation, self-esteem, social inclusion and wellbeing.

A key part of the role will be building a positive and supportive relationship with the child, while encouraging them to develop increasing independence and participate fully in learning and wider school life. Appropriate in-service training and ongoing support will be provided to enable the successful candidate to understand and respond effectively to the child’s individual needs.

This is a temporary position and is subject to the child’s continued attendance at the school and/or the outcome of any review of their special educational needs.
