Shropshire Church of England Academies Trust is pleased to invite applications for the post of 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will join our team of Teaching Assistants.

Fixed Term (to 31/08/2027 in the first instance)

30.42 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8.45am - 3.20pm)

NJC Grade 5

We are seeking a caring, resilient and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the pupil's social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, enabling them to access learning, develop positive relationships and thrive within the school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who can build strong, trusting relationships, work collaboratively with staff and families, and demonstrate patience, consistency and flexibility in meeting the needs of the child. Experience of supporting children with SEMH needs and/or additional needs would be desirable, although training and support will be provided for the right candidate. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, nurturing and committed to making a positive difference to a child's educational journey. You should also have a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent qualification.
