1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Thameside Primary School job summary
20 Hours per week
Monday – Friday 08:30am - 12:30pm, Term-time only
Fixed term until Easter 2023.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and highly committed team from September 2022 to work with a SEND child on a 1:1 basis (this could also include 2:1 support at times).
During the school day whilst working alongside the Class Teacher your duties will include:
providing direct 1-1 support and care for a named child with complex SEND needs
helping to plan for that child and create a suitable learning environment for that child
supporting individual pupils and small groups in their learning, both indoors and outdoors
observe and support the child on a 1:1 basis to help progress their learning
supporting the teacher with all aspects of children’s learning, including administrative support
assisting with setting up the classroom, preparing resources and creating classroom displays.
We are looking for a supportive teaching assistant with:
Previous experience of working with children with SEND children and/or Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification would be an advantage but not essential.
a good standard of English and Maths is essential, effective communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.
