1-1 Special Teaching Assistant job summary

The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Academies Trust (SENDAT) is a Multi-Academy Trust whose provisions support a range of needs including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health and Behavioural (SEMH) needs. Our core aim is to provide for the continuum of special needs across the Eastern region.

All SENDAT schools and alternate provisions have Trauma Informed practices embedded across the curriculum and SENDAT staff colleagues are given training and support to develop and use these skills in their day-to-day working.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Special Teaching Assistant to join Mulberry, a joint project between SENDAT and John Milton Academy Trust


1 - 1 Support Special Teaching Assistant

Three days per week

18 hours 45 minutes hours per week / 39 weeks per year

Working hours Monday to Friday 8:45 to 15:30

Includes 30 minutes unpaid break


You will work as part of a close-knit and supportive SENDAT team to provide support for students with moderate learning difficulties. You will help ensure that they receive specialist teaching and support tailored which meets their individual needs and facilitates their academic progress and personal development, by supporting students in the Mulberry class and, if required, in their lessons in the host school.

As a SENDAT employee, you will play a key role in the start-up and development of these ambitious new provisions, and be instrumental in providing a real, positive impact on the educational and life outcomes for students with SEND.
