1:1 SRB Teaching Assistant job summary

1:1 Teaching Assistant with a pupil in the SRB

  • Scale D5 (FTE salary per annum £25,583) Actual salary per annum £11,545

  • Part- Time 8.30am- 3.30pm (including 30 minutes for lunch)

  • 19.5 hours per week

  • Term time plus one week

  • Temporary - Pupil specific

We have a SEN place SRB unit, for pupils on the autistic spectrum. Our goal is to support them to be able to take part in mainstream classes as much as possible.

We need a passionate and determined Teaching Assistant to work with one of our wonderful pupils in our Autism SRB. In addition, we need an Midday Supervisory Assistant who can continue to support this when mixing with the rest of the school at lunchtime.

You will:

  • Be a kind, caring person, who knows that children learn best in an inclusive environment.

  • Have experience in working with children with different learning needs, particularly experience of working with children on the autistic spectrum, ADHD and social and emotional challenges.

  • Be flexible and adaptable.

  • Have experience of how to use creative and innovative strategies to engage children in school life and learning.

  • Have patience and resilience when dealing with children who demonstrate challenging behaviours.

  • Have excellent communication skills.

  • Be able to work individually and as part of a team.
