We have a unique and extremely exciting opportunity to be part of the founding team of a brand-new school. 

We are looking to appoint an HLTA, who will play a central role supporting the growth and development of the school. Your role will include leading outdoor learning for our pupils and bringing this to life in the school. Hours of work, 9am-4.30pm, Friday. 

As part of the Unity Schools Partnership multi-academy trust, the school will be part of a collaborative, forward thinking group of 40 schools. Silfield Oak Primary Academy will initially open with 30 pupils in the first year and grow to 60 pupils in the second year. Eventually, the school will have the capacity for 420 pupils. 

You will need to be a motivated and passionate individual with a kind heart. This role is ideal for an individual with experience of supporting children, who loves the outdoors and who wants to make a difference. You will work well as a team and have the ambition for all children to thrive. The role will vary some days so you will be adaptable to change and enjoy variation in your role.

We are hopeful that the right candidate will be forest school trained or have the ambition to undertake the training. They will need to have experience of leading outdoor learning with pupils and the commitment to the development of our outdoor nature area. 

 

The role will include: 

  • Leading the class the cover PPA and leadership time through outdoor learning Supporting with the creation of the school’s nature area 
  • Hosting a weekly nature school club Hosting a weekly nature lunchtime club 
  • Providing an additional outdoor learning session for pupils with complex needs 
  • Planning and preparing outdoor learning sessions from a long term plan 
  • Feeding back to the class teacher Supporting in the Reception class 

 

The ideal candidate would have: 

  • experience of working with young children 
  • experience of working in EYFS (desirable) a strong understanding of and experience of working with children with SEND experience of leading outdoor learning with children 
  • Forest school level 3 (desirable) experience of supporting children with interventions and measuring the impact willingness to partake in training and implement in the school experience of safeguarding children in a school
