1:1 Teaching Assistant job summary
1:1 Teaching Assistant - Bayside Academy, Poole
Monday - Friday, 12pm - 3.30pm (17.5 hours per week) Term-time only + INSET.
Fixed term until 31st August 2026.
AE Grade 4 SCP 6-9
The candidate will be an experienced practitioner, working with a named child with an EHCP. You will have emotional resilience and a flexible approach to working. You will have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs, have excellent communication skills and work in partnership with staff and parents.
You will:
Provide consistent support throughout the school day, including during lessons, playtimes and transitions
Deliver personalised learning activities in collaboration with the class teacher, SENDCo and other professionals
Support learning through play-based activities and the child's interests to promote engagement and motivation
Use appropriate communication strategies and resources
Support the child's physical needs, including mobility and personal care in line with care plans
Monitor the child's medical needs, including epilepsy
Encourage independence and self -help skills
Communicate effectively with parents
