- Working alongside class teachers to help pupils access learning and participate fully in classroom activities.
- Delivering targeted interventions and small-group or individual support where required.
- Supporting children's communication, social and emotional development and independence.
- Adapting resources and approaches to meet individual children's needs.
- Helping to monitor children's progress and contributing to the review of support strategies.
- Working positively and collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and other colleagues.
- Is caring, patient and able to build positive relationships with children.
- Has high expectations and believes that every child can succeed.
- Is flexible and able to adapt their approach to the differing needs of individual pupils.
- Can encourage children to develop confidence and independence.
- Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues.
- Has experience of supporting children with SEND or additional needs, although relevant training and a willingness to learn will also be valued.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
At St Bartholomew’s, our vision is “Hand in hand we learn, we grow, we soar.” Our values of courage, kindness, perseverance, trust, respect and love underpin school life.
What we offer:- A welcoming and inclusive school.
