1:1 Teaching Assistant job summary
Maulden Lower School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will be working primarily as a 1:1 child, as this post is linked to a child you will follow them through the school. This post will initially be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 08:30 to 15:30 term time only plus training days but could expand to 5 days a week or a job share post.
The success candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider staff to ensure the child feels safe, supported and included in all aspects of school life.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 support in line with the child's individual needs
- Supporting the child's emotional, social and academic development in the classroom and during other school activities
- Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Record keeping and observations as required
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of working with children with SEND
- Will be a positive role model
- Has a calm and firm manner and a sympathetic nature
- Has a good understanding of a range of special educational needs and ways to support them
- Is a team player, supporting their colleagues with preparation of learning activities.
Maulden Lower School is a single form entry lower school with a pre-school. We are able to offer well behaved engaged children and a learning environment with friendly and supportive staff. Visits to the school are encouraged.
