1:1 Teaching Assistant job summary

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity at St Michael’s CE Primary School for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly, committed and dedicated team. This role will involve working mornings from 9am to 12:15 pm, Monday to Friday (term time only) with children across the primary setting; one to one, small groups and interventions, as well as supporting class teachers delivering, high quality learning opportunities. This role is fixed term until 31st August 2026.

In addition, the position will involve working closely with the SENDCo, supporting Inclusion for all children across the school.

In addition, your afternoons will include:

  • Monday (1:00-3:10 pm): Supporting the SENDCo
  • Tuesday and Friday (1:00-3:10 pm): Delivering group or one-to-one interventions

We are looking for someone who will:

Be a team player who collaborates closely with colleagues within school and across the DSAT academy.

Bring a positive, flexible attitude and a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning.

Provide stable, nurturing relationships with children.

Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, with strong communication skills.

Have previous school experience.
