1:1 Teaching Assistant job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly caring team of professionals, who are committed to providing the very best for every child in our school.
This role would include working with a specific child within the EYFS classroom supporting the child with a variety of tasks. This role is 30 hours per week, working 8:30-15:00 Monday to Friday with a 30 minute lunch break.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupil engagement and ensuring the safety of the supported pupil at all times
- Build rapport with 1:1 pupil
- Work closely with the class teacher.
- Following guidelines and advice for best practice in working with supported pupil
- Follow planning provided by the class teacher
- Modelling effective communication and desired behaviours
- Communication with parents/carers and staff
- Working with external supporting professionals and adapting practice according to advice
The post is related to the provision of special needs support for this pupil. The role will end if the provision is no longer required (or the pupil departs the school).
The successful candidates will have some experience of working with children in an educational setting. You will be a supportive and welcoming presence in the classroom with the dedication to inspire the children to meet their full potential.

- Confident in dealing with avoidant and occasionally challenging behaviours
- Dedicated to forming a relationship with the pupils they support
- Enthusiastic and motivated

- Willing to undertake relevant training related to support
- Keen to work as part of a team and share ideas and good practice
