Pilgrim Primary Academy, Reach South Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an exceptional and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join the School for September 2022 (temporary role).

Location: Pilgrim Primary Academy, Oxford Street, Stonehouse, Plymouth PL1 5BQ
FTE Salary Range: NJC Grade C, Point 5 – 7, £19,650 - £20,444 pro-rata for part time contract
Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31st August 2023, part time; term-time (39 weeks).
Contract Hours: 28 hours per week; Monday to Friday
About the role
Pilgrim Primary Academy is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our committed team. This role is for a TA to be working in our small class Nurture provision with children with SEN and emotional needs. The ideal candidate will be hard working, friendly and outgoing and have relevant experience of working with high needs pupils or who has an interest in this area. They will have a passion for supporting young children’s learning, be able to form positive and meaningful relationships with pupils and enjoy working as part of a dynamic team.
Please note that this role is offered on a temporary basis due to the nature of the temporary funding to school but, if funding remained in place for longer, it has the potential to be extended.
About the successful candidate
This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated and well organised individual. We are looking for people who have the following experience and qualities:
• Have at least Level 2 Teaching Assistant and/or Level 2 Early Years Qualification (or equivalent to these)
• Be able to display effective communication skills with both children and adults
• Be eager to work collaboratively in a wider team, adaptable and open to new ideas and practices
• Be a fast and highly flexible thinker, being able to deal with change and unpredictability positively with a ‘can-do’ attitude
• Experience of working with SEN children preferable
