Malmesbury Park Primary,Reach South Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an Assistant Head Teacher to start in September 2025.

FTE Salary Range: L3 - L7, £52,301 - £57,831

Contract Type: Permanent,

Contract Hours: 32.5 per week, Monday to Friday

About the role

The Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Inclusion will provide leadership and oversight of SEND and autism/SEMH provision and strategy within the school (4 -11) and will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating its overall effectiveness.


Core Purpose:

As Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, the post holder will support the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher in raising the attainment and progress of pupils with SEND. This post is non-class based but will involve some teaching duties across the school.

To lead the improvement of SEND based teaching strategies

To be an exemplary practitioner and role model for other teachers.

To challenge the way things are and strive for excellence and improvement in everything you do.

To lead the autism provision within the school.

To contribute to raising standards of student attainment; sharing and supporting the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.

To contribute to the SLT, solve problems and take a proactive approach to school improvement.

The above will be supported by using the Professional Standards for Teachers framework:

1. Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students;

2. Promote outstanding progress and outcomes by students;

3. Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge;

4. Plan and teach inspiring lessons;
