FTE Salary Range: NJC Grade A pt 2 £24,413

Actual Annual Salary: £6,605 Pro Rata

Contract Type: Fixed Term until 17th July 2026 (39 weeks per year)

Contract Hours: The hours are 3:15 pm to 5:30 pm (Monday to Friday, term time only, plus 1 week)

About the role

We are looking for four caring and enthusiastic After School Club Assistants required to join our new Afterschool Club provision from November 2025, working across both schools. We are seeking to employ creative individuals who will make a positive contribution to our busy and friendly club. The role will require:

  • To assist the School as appropriate to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of the club
  • To encourage, and provide a safe, stimulating environment for the children, with creative and play opportunities
  • To assist in ensuring the safety of all those children at the club
  • To act in a responsible manner towards the children at all times
  • To be responsible, with other team members, for ensuring that play materials and equipment are properly used, maintained
  • To assist with the day to day administration and record-keeping
  • Preparing and serving an afternoon snack to the children
  • Escorting children

About the successful candidate

  • Experience of working with parents and carers from a range of cultural backgrounds, encouraging full participation in their children's play and learning opportunities
  • Experience of working as part of team providing high quality childcare services
  • At least 2 years' experience of working with children in the 4-11 years age range and their families
  • Knowledge of child protection issues and policies and relevant Safeguarding procedures
  • Already holding a first aid and/or food hygiene qualification would be advantageous.
