A bit about us:
SAIL (Salisbury Academy for Inspiration Learners) is a day specialist provider of education in Salisbury, Wiltshire for children and young people aged from 5 to 16 years who have a diagnosis of Autism or an SEMH profile.
We are a growing school which opened in September 2023 and currently have around 110 students. Our aim is to build safe, independent lives for the Autistic and SEMH population through a process of understanding, support, and enablement. We personalise each child’s curriculum, care, and therapeutic package to support them to achieve and experience success and independence.
All about the role:
Hours of work: 32 ½ hours a week
Contract type: Fixed Term for a period of up to 52 weeks to cover maternity leave
We are looking for a secondary maths teacher with passion, drive and commitment to work in our school with our ASC/SEMH students, build their aspirations and help them see what is possible.
Are you a maths teacher with a passion for working with young people with SEND, specifically those with ASC/SEMH needs? Within this role you will predominantly teaching Key stage 3 maths to students with SEMH and ASC needs, with class sizes between 6 and 10, but will also include one science group. Many of our students have experienced significant past difficulties at school and as a result have many gaps in their learning or barriers to learning. Therefore the ability to be adaptive and creative with your teaching in order to respond to individual needs is essential.
