What skills and experience we're looking for

• Are you a highly skilled, successful teacher of Geography with a proven track record of high-quality teaching and learning?
• Are you able to teach Geography to all levels including up to A-Level?
• Are you an ambitious and passionate teacher who wants to join a strong department with a track record of success?
• Do you want to work with an excellent Head of Subject to continue to shape the growth and development of Geography, possibly with the responsibility for a specific Key Stage?
• Would you like to work in a school where “Leaders, including Governors, value the work of staff and where new teachers speak highly of the support they are given”? (Ofsted June 2023)
• Are you looking to work in a thriving and well-regarded school where staff well-being is central to all of our decision making?

Waingels, a popular 11-18 school where students achieved above national average in all measures and was identified as “continuing to be good” in a recent OFSTED inspection, is seeking to appoint asecond in department for Geography teaching from KS3-5.

This is a key role within the school and would be ideal for an experienced practitioner who already has experience of a subject leadership position or is seeking their first TLR in a subject setting.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Subject for Geography, leading on agreed aspects of Geography teaching across the department and making a significant contribution to this highly successful department and promoting Geography in the school and local community.
