We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, inspiring and ambitious second in charge of our English Faculty who will lead a Key Stage and has aspirations of becoming a Head of English. We are looking for someone who is passionate about their subject and determined to impart knowledge, skills and understanding to all our young people, whilst exciting and engaging them in their learning. We will only consider candidates who can evidence a strong track record of success at GCSE and who have made a significant impact on the lives and education of the children they teach. This will need to be demonstrated in your application and be clearly evident on the selection day.
They will work closely with the Head of the English Faculty to analyse student performance and develop teaching & learning and assessment materials, aimed at raising aspiration and attainment.
This role will be vital in our growing school’s continuing journey for excellence and will provide fantastic career development for an aspiring Subject Leader.
The successful candidate will join a supportive, forward-looking Faculty and school, which places teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do.
We are looking for someone who can quickly develop their leadership to an outstanding level to ensure that learning and progress in English continues on an upward trajectory. The right candidate will receive support and guidance to do so.

Love English in all its forms
Be a leader that can lead strategically and deliver operationally
Lead by example and be an excellent English teacher who inspires and engages within the classroom. Equally, you will provide a wide range of opportunities outside of the classroom
Have a track record of positive impact on student’s progress across the English Faculty
Possess a strong desire to create and lead a department in which all are valued and play a key role in raising standards
Have demonstrable evidence of raising attainment and developing excellence within a team
Be passionate about developing their own practice and the teaching and learning practice of others
Communicate effectively to staff, students and parents
Lead the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, and relevant and differentiated English curriculum which is accessible for all
Effectively manage and deploy financial and physical resources within the department to support the best outcomes of our students
