As an Academic Interventions Practitioner (AIP), this is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills and experience as part of the Academic Interventions team. With a passion for delivering interventions throughout the EP, you will be working closely with the teachers and support staff to enhance the promotion and development of academic interventions across the provision.
Your Role
The attached job description will detail your role in full. But at a glance, some of the key fields you will be responsible for include:
· Deliver, record, monitor and review academic interventions throughout the EP.
· Provide support to identified CYP, attending meetings and writing reports as appropriate.
· Provide additional support in identified classes as appropriate.
· Support the assessment and collection of literacy and numeracy data throughout the year.
· Promote clear communication between wings and the academic interventions team.
· Support the academic interventions coordinator in analysing academic data to identify individual and class patterns where additional support may be required.
· To train employees in a range of strategies that enable that promote independent learning in the classroom.
Your Experience
Our person specification attached will contain the full areas of skills and experience, but it is really important to us that you feel comfortable and confident in your role, so although you may not have everything desirable, there are some essential features our appointee will need to have and these include:
· Level 2 Literacy/Numeracy (or NVQ equivalent)
· Experience in delivering academic interventions or a desire to do so
· Have experience of supporting CYP with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and have an understanding of Autism and associated barriers to learning
