What skills and experience we're looking for
Now recruiting for an Academic Mentor to support students in Years 7-11, helping to bridge achievement gaps caused by barriers such as attendance, behaviour, engagement with school, homework completion, organisation, and overall involvement in the school community.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Level 3 qualification or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- GCSE (Equ. A* - C) including English and Maths
- Experience of working with secondary school aged students
- Ability to relate well with students, staff and parents
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage own workload
- High level of communication skills with the ability to relate to students, parents, members of SLT and external agencies
- Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by some students.
- Competent in the use of ICT
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
