About the role
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Accounts Assistant to join our Central Finance Team at our Head Office. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our eight schools, with a particular focus on purchasing, debtors, school trips and wider business activities.
Working closely with the Purchasing Manager and Finance Manager, you will ensure that financial processes are accurate, timely, and compliant with Trust procedures.
Main Responsibilities
- Process and generate purchase requests, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Manage purchase orders that cannot be automatically issued through the Trust’s finance system, including credit card transactions.
- Support the daily administration of school trips—checking costings, ensuring compliance, and providing informed advice to trip leaders.
- Proactively implement the Trust’s financial procedures.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar finance or accounts assistant role.
- Strong understanding and practical application of accounting processes and procedures.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience using computerised accounting software.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across multiple schools.
