Our opportunity

We are seeking to appoint Achievement Support Assistants at Brompton Hall School based near Scarborough. Supporting pupils and teachers in the classroom and small Nurture groups.

This is a wonderfully varied post as you will have the opportunity to engage with different class teachers and year groups. You will collaborate with teachers to support the academic, social, emotional and development of individuals and groups of pupils, understanding clearly how pupils’ learn. Your support will maximise the attainment and accelerate the progress of pupils.

You will be highly organised with the ability to:

  • Work well as a team and also use initiative
  • Manage challenging behaviour positively
  • Motivate and develop the children in your care
  • Be passionate about seeing young people succeed
  • Be emotionally resilient

You will need:

  • GCSE English and maths, Grade A-C (or equivalent – eg Certificate in Adult Literacy / Numeracy Level 2)
  • Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and special needs
  • Understanding of National Curriculum, and other codes of practice eg SEN, Equalities
