BRIDGEVIEW SPECIAL SCHOOL

Grade 4 - Achievement Support Assistant

32.5 hours per week term time only + 5 training days (195 days)

Actual starting salary will be £19,948 - £20,591 (£26, 403 - £27,254 FTE)

We are looking for an adaptable, flexible, and resourceful individual to work in our Ofsted rated outstanding special school. This role is a varied one, based both within and outside of the classroom. You will be required to use your initiative, and work with small groups, as well as at times be within the full class. Under the supervision of the teacher, you will use your skills to enhance the learning opportunities of the children within our school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the learning and progress of students across a range of subjects
  • Work with students with additional needs to help them access lessons and build confidence
  • Support behaviour management and promote a positive learning environment
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

  • Has experience working with children or young people
  • Is patient, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Works well in a team but can also use their initiative
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
