Job Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and effective Achievement Support Assistant to join our hardworking and dedicated staff.

Contract Details

Grade: 4, Scp 7 - 9, £11,399 - £11,766 per annum (actual salary)

Hours: 19 hours per week, term time only (190 days)

Contract Type: Permanent

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence.
  • Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with school procedures encouraging pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour.
  • Support the academic, social, emotional and development of individuals and groups of pupils understanding clearly how pupils learn.
  • Provide effective support to maximise attainment and accelerate the progress of individuals and groups of pupils.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes when necessary.
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress towards academic, social, behavioural and learning skills.
  • Liaise closely with appropriate staff in relation to safeguarding, behaviour, SEND needs and wellbeing issues.
  • Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ attainment, progress, behaviour and attitudes to learning.

Although this post is attached to Thanet Primary School, as an employee of Horizon Academy Trust you may be required to work at other schools in the MAT.
