    Withernsea Primary School is looking to appoint a dedicated, patient and enthusiastic Achievement Support Assistant to join our team and contribute to the continued development of our school.

    This is a fixed-term maternity cover position from September 2026 until August 2027, working 31 hours per week.

    • Has experience of, or an understanding of, supporting children with communication and interaction needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

    • Is committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential

    • Can build positive, trusting relationships with children and support their social and emotional development

    • Demonstrates patience, empathy and flexibility when supporting pupils with a range of additional needs

    • Understands the importance of structure, routine and consistency in supporting pupils with communication and interaction needs

    • Is able to adapt learning activities and use a range of strategies to support communication, engagement and independence

    • Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to school life

    • Values inclusion and understands how to support a range of learning needs

    • Builds strong relationships with pupils, parents, external agencies and the wider community

    • Is organised, dependable and reflective in their practice

    • Has high expectations for both themselves and the pupils they support

    • Can work effectively alongside teachers and other professionals to support learning, communication and personal development
