Admin Assistant job summary

Chapmanslade CofE Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, personable and organised Admin Assistant to support our school on a part-time basis, starting in January 2026, and help to ensure the smooth running of our day-to-day operations.

Contract: Fixed Term (until 31st August 2026). Working Hours: Part time (10 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 38 weeks per year, no Teacher Training days).

We are a small and convivial primary school with Christianity at our heart. Situated in the charming village of Chapmanslade, Wiltshire, our school is an inclusive place where every member of our school community shows love to their neighbour by demonstrating compassion, service, courage and trust. In March 2023, were proud to be confirmed as a ‘good’ school by Ofsted and recently joined Acorn Education Trust, which provides exciting opportunities to improve local education, collaborate with schools and draw on collective experience.

As the initial point of contact for parents, visitors and other stakeholders, you will act as an ambassador for our school and be responsible for supporting with administrative and organisational processes within our setting.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is well presented and articulate, with good communication skills;
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents;
  • Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills;
  • Is self-motivated dedicated and consistent;
  • Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
  • Is a strong team player, who can use their own initiative;
  • Has a positive and flexible attitude
  • Has experience of working in an office environment (advantageous);
  • Has sound ICT skills, including fast and accurate keyboard skills.
