Receptionist job summary
Clarendon Academy is seeking a motivated, personable and highly organised Receptionist to work as part of our school Business team and provide a comprehensive receptionist service to staff, students and visitors.
Working Hours: Part Time (30 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 39 weeks per year including Teacher Training days). Required: ASAP
We are a thriving co-educational, non-denominational secondary school and sixth form, educating young people between the ages of 11 and 18. Located in the bustling town of Trowbridge, Wiltshire, and in easy commuter distance from Bath, we pride ourselves on being a centre of excellence and a place where young, enthusiastic children enter in Year 7 and leave us at the end of Year 13 as fully rounded young adults. We are part of the Acorn Education Trust, which provides exciting opportunities to collaborate and improve local education.
Working in the main reception, you will be the initial point of contact for parents, visitors and other stakeholders and be responsible for welcoming guests, dealing with queries, receiving telephone communications, and supporting with general administrative tasks. You will need to enjoy working as part of a team and be adaptable and flexible in your outlook, with sound IT and communication skills.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous receptionist / admin experience, ideally in a school setting (advantageous);
- Is well presented and articulate, with excellent communication skills;
- Has a good working knowledge of ICT systems (including Microsoft, Outlook and Word);
- Has studied to a minimum standard of GCSE (grade A*- C) or equivalent in English and Maths;
- Has strong interpersonal skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents;
- Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills;
- Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
- Is calm and able to work under pressure in a busy environment;
- Is a strong team player who can use their own initiative;
- Has a positive, resilient and flexible attitude.
