You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the academy by managing staff cover arrangements, supporting reception services and providing high-quality administrative support.

Each day will begin with coordinating cover arrangements for planned and unplanned staff absences, liaising with supply agencies and staff, and ensuring lessons are appropriately covered to minimise disruption to students' learning. Alongside these responsibilities, you will provide a professional and welcoming reception service, support administration processes and act as a key point of contact for students, families, staff and visitors.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their work, has strong organisational skills and is committed to supporting positive outcomes for young people.

Details about the role

As the Cover Coordinator, you will take responsibility for the academy's daily cover administration for approximately two hours each morning, starting at 7:00am. You will organise cover arrangements for staff absences, liaise with supply agencies and supply staff, process cover requests, maintain cover records and ensure all lessons are appropriately staffed throughout the day.

The remaining hours will be spent supporting the academy reception and administration function. This will include welcoming visitors, signing students in and out, responding to queries from parents, staff and students, answering telephone calls and emails, and providing general administrative support to ensure the efficient running of academy operations.

Working closely with teaching and support staff, you will help maintain effective systems and processes that support both learning and the wider academy community.

About you

You will have:

  • Experience of working in an administrative, reception or office-based environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise professionally with staff, students, parents, visitors and external agencies.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when maintaining records and processing information.
  • The ability to work independently and use your initiative whilst also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • A flexible, positive and proactive approach to work.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and improving outcomes for all students.
