Admin Assistant job summary
Pewsey Vale School is looking for a motivated and organised Admin Assistant to join our school Business team. Supporting with the administrative, financial and organisational processes within our school, you will enjoy working as part of a team and be adaptable and flexible in your outlook, along with excellent IT skills and a keen eye for attention to detail.
Working Hours: Part Time (18 hours per week, four days per week – three days per week may be considered - 39 weeks per year, includes teacher Training Days). Required: September 2026
Pewsey Vale is a small but thriving co-educational school, educating young people between the ages of 11 and 16 years. Located in the village of Pewsey, our school community works together to ensure that all students are supported to reach their full potential in both their academic and personal development. We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of administration, ideally in a secondary school setting but not essential;
- Has a good working knowledge of ICT systems (including Microsoft, Outlook and Word);
- Has studied to a minimum standard GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a Grade 4 (previously Grade C) in English and Maths;
- Is self-motivated, consistent and can maintain confidentiality;
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff, parents and outside agencies;
- Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills;
- Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
- Is able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines;
- Is a strong team player who can use their own initiative;
- Has a positive and flexible attitude.
