Administration Assistant job summary

We are seeking to appoint an Administrative Assistant for a maternity cover, to provide welcoming and effective reception duties and office administrative support.

The main duties of the role are:

Provide reception service ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures

Operate the school switchboard

Deal with day to day enquiries from students and staff

Provide administrative service for the senior leadership team and teaching staff

Provide administrative support for school events etc as required

Manage email correspondence for the JOG office email address

Manage reprographics requests from staff

Manage school post

Organisation and administration of school lettings

Any other duties which reasonably fall within the purview of the post

You would be part of a professional, effective and supportive office team.

Candidates should have good communication and computer skills, and a good general level of education including GCSE English and Maths, previous office/administrative experience, ability to work well as part of a team and use own initiative, ability to work under pressure, be discreet and have a mature and flexible approach. Previous experience in a school office would be an advantage but not essential.

The postholder will be contracted to work 32.5hrs/wk, Monday to Friday, term time only plus 3 inset days.
