Job Title: Administration Assistant – Level 1
Actual Annual Salary: £12,007 - £13,087
Full Time Equivalent Salary: £25,941 - £28,275 (CLF Grade B) Based on 37 hours per week, all year round.
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Part Time, 20 Hours per week, Term Time Only plus inset days
Additional role info: Working Pattern = Monday to Friday 12pm - 4pm
Flexibility: This is a job share. A different working pattern may be able to be accommodated pending consultation with the other postholder.

Priorswood Primary School is a vibrant, community-centered school located in the heart of Wedlands, Taunton.
The school serves a mixed, diverse cohort of around 210 pupils aged 2-11. As an Administration Assistant, you'll be joining a warm and supportive admin team and wider staff team that includes leadership, teaching, support staff, operations and premises teams who all work closely together to ensure smooth day-to-day running and excellent provision for pupils. The role sits within a small collaborative admin team where your contribution will be immediately felt and highly valued.
You won't be "just an administrator" - you will be at the heart of the school's daily operations. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a varied and people-focused environment. Key aspects include: - Front-of house responsibilities, helping ensure all visitors, parents, pupils and professionals experience a warm professional welcome. - Support with essential school operations such as admissions, communication, data entry, and social media updates. - Safeguarding presence at reception, ensuring the safety and monitoring of all site access - Meaningful contact with families, contributing to a community-first culture. Your work directly supports the smooth running of the school and will have a visible impact every day.
About you:
- Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrates an ability to understand and convey sensitive information effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills, in particular demonstrates empathy and active listening.
- Good planning and organisational skills.
- Effective use of IT, ideally including management information systems, to support effective delivery of administrative processes. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, e-mail, keyboard skills and use of the Internet.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience of working in an administrative role and undertaking a range of administrative tasks.
