An Exciting Opportunity to Join a Rapidly Improving Academy
Thornhill Academy, part of Consilium Academies, is seeking to appoint a highly organised, professional and proactive Administration Manager to lead and develop our administrative support services.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving and ambitious secondary academy that was graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted in May 2024 and is entering a transformational period, including the development of a brand-new school building commencing in 2026.
As Administration Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the academy’s administration functions, supporting staff, students, parents and the wider school community.
About the Role
Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will lead the Administration Team and oversee a wide range of operational and administrative services across the academy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the school administration team
- Overseeing visitor management and safeguarding administration, including SCR compliance
- Managing school systems including Arbor, ParentPay and CRB Impact
- Supporting HR administration, recruitment and absence processes
- Monitoring financial balances including trips, school meals and sales
- Supporting school communications, marketing and website updates
- Coordinating administrative support for governance meetings, exclusions and school events
- Maintaining GDPR-compliant systems, policies and records
- Ensuring high standards of customer service across all administrative functions
This is a varied and rewarding role requiring strong leadership, organisational and communication skills, alongside the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy school environment.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Has significant administrative experience within a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates excellent organisational and time management skills
- Has strong ICT skills and confidence using data management systems
- Can communicate effectively with staff, students, parents and external stakeholders
- Has experience leading or supporting teams
- Understands confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection requirements
- Remains calm, professional and solution-focused under pressure
Experience working within a school environment would be advantageous.
