What skills and experience we're looking for

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our school and we are looking to appoint an Administrative Assistant to work alongside our dedicated office staff in our busy and friendly school office.

We are looking for a caring, organised, and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join our busy school office—someone who enjoys working in a child-centred environment and who can play a key role in supporting attendance and celebrating school life.

This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of our school where no two days are the same. You will be the first point of contact for many parents and visitors, while also taking responsibility for monitoring and managing pupil attendance and helping to share the wonderful things happening in our school through social media.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • experience in an administrative role (school experience desirable but not essential)
  • strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and school MIS systems
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • experience managing or contributing to social media platforms
  • a proactive, flexible, and positive approach to work and willingness to help wherever needed
  • understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding in a school setting
  • excellent level of literacy and numeracy skills
  • is motivated, enthusiastic, reflective and committed to professional development

Bearwood Primary School was originally built in 1847, with the original building being Grade II listed. Its history is linked with the Walter family of Bearwood House. We have a well-equipped and resourced building, spacious grounds and a dedicated, knowledgeable and hardworking team of staff whose aim is to do the best for each child.
