We are seeking to appoint a highly effective Administrative Assistant. The successful candidate will be based on reception and provide general administrative support to the school and assist in the efficient running of the school office under the instruction of the Headteacher’s PA. You will be an ambassador for the school, responsible for welcoming visitors and to act as first point of contact over the telephone and face to face. Edgar Wood Academy is a new school which opened its doors in September 2021 and serves the local community in Middleton and Heywood. This role would suit an adaptable, efficient and flexible team player who can demonstrate an ability to use their own initiative and be proactive. We are an expanding school with an intake of 120 places in September 2021, followed by a further 180 places accepted for September 2022. We want to employ enthusiastic staff that will grow with the school.
We are currently based in a temporary site in the grounds of Hopwood Hall College on the Middleton Campus whilst the new school is completed. From September 2022, Year 7 and Year 8 students at Edgar Wood Academy will be the first to experience our new school building in Bowlee, Middleton, with its modern state-of the-art facilities, designed to allow our students to flourish academically, culturally and artistically.
