What skills and experience we're looking for
A clear understanding of up to date child protection and safeguarding
Strong communication skills are needed to liaise effectively with children, parents colleagues and other professionals
A clear understanding of health and safety requirements in necessary to ensure a safe environment for everyone
The ability to adapt to children’s needs and create a stimulating play environment
Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the club leader
Ability to set up and tidy away activities, ensuring a clean and safe environment
Ability to use initiative and resolve straight forward issues, such as minor disagreements between children
A relevant qualification such as an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Playwork or Childcare, or equivalent
Commitment to completing relevant training such as safeguarding, first aid and food hygiene if not already obtained
Proven experience of working with children in a similar environment
Experience in delivering a range of appropriate activities that cater to the interests and developmental needs of children aged 3 – 11
An enjoyment and passion for working with children is fundamental to creating a positive environment
A caring, enthusiastic and approachable nature
The ability to be patient, calm and fair while maintaining appropriate discipline is essential
A reliable, responsible, and trustworthy character is a must for handling children and club operations
A flexible approach to work and a willingness to participate in activities are important
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding matters relating to children and staff
The role is based at Hillsborough Primary School but could involve travel to other school sites within the Trust
Requirement to participate in first aid training
Requirement to complete online training modules each year as applicable to the role
Requirement to attend face to face 3 yearly mandatory safeguarding training

Hours: 15 hours per week, 39 week per year
Inova Multi Academy Trust wish to appoint an After School Club Assistant starting as soon as possible at Hillsborough Primary School.
