What skills and experience we're looking for

  • A clear understanding of up to date child protection and safeguarding​

  • Strong communication skills are needed to liaise effectively with children, parents colleagues and other professionals​

  • A clear understanding of health and safety requirements in necessary to ensure a safe environment for everyone​

  • The ability to adapt to children’s needs and create a stimulating play environment ​

  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the club leader​

  • Ability to set up and tidy away activities, ensuring a clean and safe environment​

  • Ability to use initiative and resolve straight forward issues, such as minor disagreements between children​

    • A relevant qualification such as an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Playwork or Childcare, or equivalent​

    • Commitment to completing relevant training such as safeguarding, first aid and food hygiene if not already obtained​

    • Proven experience of working with children in a similar environment​

    • Experience in delivering a range of appropriate activities that cater to the interests and developmental needs of children aged 3 – 11 ​

    • An enjoyment and passion for working with children is fundamental to creating a positive environment​

    • A caring, enthusiastic and approachable nature​

    • The ability to be patient, calm and fair while maintaining appropriate discipline is essential​

    • A reliable, responsible, and trustworthy character is a must for handling children and club operations​

    • A flexible approach to work and a willingness to participate in activities are important​

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding matters relating to children and staff​

    • The role is based at Hillsborough Primary School but could involve travel to other school sites within the Trust​​​

    • Requirement to participate in first aid training​​​

    • Requirement to complete online training modules each year as applicable to the role​​​

    • Requirement to attend face to face 3 yearly mandatory safeguarding training​​

Inova Multi Academy Trust wish to appoint an After School Club Assistant starting as soon as possible at Hillsborough Primary School.
