After School Club Assistant job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic after school club assistant to support the leader in establishing and running an after school care club at our vibrant and inclusive school. We want someone who loves working with children and can use their initiative to support the children in a wide range of activities.
Duties would include:
• Supporting the leader in setting up and running activities.
• Preparing food and snacks for the children daily.
• Welcoming children after a day at school and ensuring they are settled and happy in the setting.
• Undertaking relevant health and safety/safeguarding training to ensure children are well looked after.
• Engaging children in play and interaction with each other.
• Working at the direction of the club leader to ensure smooth running of the service.
We would be looking for someone who:
• Has a lovely manner with all children.
• Is good at communicating with other colleagues and parents.
• Can deal with first aid or personal care needs.
• Is well organised and can work from their own initiative.
• Has a firm but friendly approach to behaviour management.
• Can help setup a wonderful, nurturing environment where children thrive and have a sense of belonging.
