After School Coordinator job summary

Position: After School Coordinator

Location: On site, Westbury-on-Trym BS9 3BA

Hours: This is a part-time position working 4pm - 6pm, Monday to Friday term time only

The closing date for this position will be Tuesday 1st July

Interviews will be taking place Week commencing 7th July

We are looking for an experienced and empathetic After School Coordinator to support our school.


Primary responsibilities include:

• To oversee an appropriate programme of after school activities in Late Stay/Prep (4-6pm) and keep a register of attendance

• To oversee the running and organisation of Late Stay ensuring that it runs smoothly, that the children are safe and enjoying themselves

• To establish and maintain a positive relationship with pupils

• To supervise children in the play areas, including rough patch or playground

• To look out for children who are upset and actively help them to feel better

• To administer basic first aid to any children who have an accident and are hurt (training will be provided if needed)

• To pass any relevant pastoral or safeguarding information that you have about a child on to the Prep Management Team

• To promote good relationships between staff and parents

• To always follow safeguarding protocols

• To be responsible for pastoral care of the children in Late Stay and be familiar with the Behaviour Policy

• To co-operate with other members of staff team, sharing information, ideas and expertise

• To participate in the staff development programme and attend relevant INSET and other training days


To be considered for this position, we are looking for the following:

Applicants must have appropriate academic qualifications for the role which must be a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

Applicants will be kind, caring and have a love of working and supporting children. They should be personable, of smart appearance and have good social skills. They will be organised, punctual and efficient in organising their workload and managing their time effectively. They will work well in a team and be responsive to advice and guidance.
