  • After School Club: approx. 3:00pm - 5:30/6:00pm, Monday-Friday (flexible days)

  • Holiday Club: during school holidays
    Pay: £15.24 per hour

Main purpose of the role

Crofton Junior School is looking to recruit enthusiastic and reliable Playworkers / Sports Coaches to join our After School and Holiday Club provision.

This role involves supporting and delivering a range of play, creative, and sporting activities for children aged 3-11 years, helping to ensure a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for all children attending.

You will be joining an established and supportive team, working across both term-time after-school provision and school holiday clubs.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the safe supervision of children during after-school and holiday club sessions

  • Plan and deliver engaging activities including:

    • Sports and games

    • Arts and crafts

    • Play-based activities

  • Promote positive behaviour and inclusion

  • Support setting up and packing away equipment

  • Work effectively as part of a team to maintain a safe and welcoming environment

The successful candidate will:

  • Enjoy working with children and as part of a team

  • Be friendly, approachable, and reliable

  • Have good communication skills with both children and adults

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • Be willing to undertake training as required

  • Hold a current First Aid qualification or be willing to complete training

Previous experience working with children or in a play, sport, or childcare setting is desirable but not essential. Applicants must be aged 18 or over.
