Afterschool Club Assistant job summary

We are seeking a friendly, reliable Afterschool Club Assistant to help create a safe, happy, and supportive environment for children at the end of the school day. This important role supports pupils’ social development and wellbeing while ensuring the club remains positive, welcoming, and respectful for all children.

This role is casual hours, Monday to Friday, during term-time.

Grade 2 - £12.85 per hour plus holiday pay

Key Responsibilities

Supervise children during afterschool club sessions, both indoors and outdoors.
Plan, support, and engage children in a range of fun, safe, and age-appropriate activities.
Encourage positive behaviour, teamwork, and respectful social interaction among pupils.
Ensure all children feel safe, included, supported, and engaged throughout the session.
Assist with preparing and serving snacks, encouraging healthy eating habits where appropriate.
Support children’s wellbeing and help resolve minor issues or concerns as they arise.
Administer basic first aid when required and report any incidents in line with school procedures.
Help maintain a clean, tidy, safe, and welcoming afterschool club environment.
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times.
