Join The Centre School

The Centre School is a specialist setting dedicated to supporting children and young people whose educational needs require a highly personalised and nurturing approach. We are committed to helping every student overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally. Through strong relationships, therapeutic support, and tailored educational pathways, we create opportunities for pupils to thrive and successfully engage with education. Our staff work collaboratively with families, external agencies, and specialist providers to ensure that every young person receives the support they need to succeed.

We are seeking an exceptional Alternative Provision Manager to play a vital role in supporting some of our most vulnerable students. This is a rewarding opportunity for an organised, compassionate, and proactive professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people through high-quality alternative provision, strong family engagement, and robust safeguarding practices.

About the Role

As Alternative Provision Manager, you will oversee the coordination, monitoring, and quality assurance of alternative education programmes for students requiring specialist support. Working closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams, families, and external providers, you will ensure that students access effective provision that meets their individual needs and helps them achieve the best possible outcomes.

The successful candidate will also support safeguarding processes and work closely with families and external agencies to address barriers to attendance, engagement, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee alternative provision placements and personalised timetables for identified students.
  • Develop, review, and monitor individual education plans to ensure provision remains effective and impactful.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, external providers, and partner agencies.
  • Monitor the quality and effectiveness of alternative provision through visits, reviews, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Work alongside senior leaders to improve attendance, engagement, and educational outcomes for vulnerable learners.
  • Support safeguarding and early help processes, acting as a key link between families, school staff, and external professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to student welfare, provision, and progress.
  • Monitor provision-related expenditure and contribute to strategic planning to ensure resources are used effectively.
What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families.
  • Has a strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and multi-agency working.
  • Can build positive and professional relationships with students, families, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Is highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Has experience coordinating support programmes, interventions, or alternative provision services.
  • Demonstrates resilience, initiative, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Can communicate confidently and sensitively in challenging situations.
  • Is committed to inclusion and improving outcomes for young people facing barriers to education.
  • Shares our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people by ensuring they receive the right support, at the right time, in the right setting. If you are passionate about inclusive education, safeguarding, and helping students overcome barriers to success, we would love to hear from you.
