About our School

St Joseph’s is a one-form entry school for pupils aged 4 to 11 years. The Academy Trust Board, Staff and Parents form a committed and valuable community partnership where we all play an active part in our children’s education. About the post

This apprenticeship will help you to develop the skills and knowledge needed to successfully support children across a school in their learning and personal development and wellbeing. Your training and work experience will be structured to help you meet the requirement of a Teaching Assistant Level 3 Certificate. We currently work in partnership with Halifax Opportunities Trust who will provide you with a tutor and coursework leading towards your qualification. Our school staff will also support you throughout your journey.

Contract details

You will be in school (term time only) for 30 hours a week and receive payment over 52 weeks in a year.

The expectation for completion of your coursework is that you will complete this out of classroom time and in the school holidays.

Qualifications

The candidate will ideally have Maths & English GCSE’s. However, if passes have not been achieved in either or both subjects the expectation is that you will achieve a Level 2 Functional Skills as part of the apprenticeship (organised by Halifax Opportunities Trust).

Eligibility to Apply

Please note you are only eligible to apply for this role if:

*You have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years (there are some exceptions to this so applicants will need to be considered on case by case basis as required).

*You are not in full time compulsory education.

*You have not previously completed an Apprenticeship and achieved a level 4 qualification or higher in the same industry.

An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for this post. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
