Apprentice Teaching Assistant job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, passionate and innovative Apprentice Teaching Assistant, to join our wonderful team. The successful candidate will be a good team player, have a flexible approach and have the ability to develop positive behaviour strategies with children. You will be supported to complete a Level 3 TA Qualification. Study time will be part of your working hours.
This is a full time 37 hours per week, 38 weeks plus up to 5 ad hoc teacher training days per year is a fixed term role until completion of the TA qualification. There is an expectation that a TA role will be available at the school on completion of your course but this is not guaranteed. It is unlikely that the hours for the qualified TA role will be the same.
The successful candidates will have GCSE Grade C or above in English Language and Mathematics, and some experience of working with children in an educational setting. You will be a supportive and welcoming presence in the classroom with the dedication to inspire the children to meet their full potential. You will be working with a Key Stage 2 class but this may change in future years.

- Has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

- Has a commitment to Christian values.
Main Responsibilities:
- Managing behaviour and ensuring the safety of pupils at all times.
- Working as a part of a team.
- Following guidelines and advice for best practice.
- Engaging in child-initiated learning.
- Modelling effective communication and desired behaviours.
- Communication with parents/carers and staff.
- Working with external supporting professionals and adapting practice according to advice.
