Art and Food Technician job summary
Duties and Responsibilities:
To prepare teaching spaces for practical lessons in Art and Food.
To assist with cleaning and checking of equipment, resources and materials.
To check equipment for safety and report faults or damages.
To prepare, organise and maintain materials for lessons and demonstrations.
To support students in lessons under the direction of the classroom teacher.
To order, audit and manage stock and consumables across both departments.
To prepare ingredients and weigh materials for Food lessons.
To maintain displays of student work within the Art department.
To handle money and maintain accurate records where required.
To assist with enrichment activities and curriculum events.
To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by line managers.
Resources:
To operate specialist equipment such as kilns, batik pots and sewing machines.
To operate Food Technology equipment including cookers, microwaves and dishwashers.
To work with teaching staff to ensure safety and well-being of students.
General Duties:
To participate in all aspects of training and development.
To comply with the Academy Health and Safety Policy.
To comply with Equality and Data Protection policies.
