Deputy Data Protection Officer job summary
Could you be our next Deputy Data Protection Officer?
Are you ready to step into a pivotal, high-impact role?
Are you familiar with data protection legislation and understand how data flows in a school environment?
Can you build strong relationships and influence senior leaders, even without a direct line management link?
Are you pragmatic, balanced, and calm under pressure when handling information requests or data breaches?
If you answered yes to these questions then we want you to apply for this new exciting role!
As our new Deputy Data Protection Officer, you’ll be the shield and the guide for our academies. Working closely with the Head of Data Protection, you will advise central teams, and academy colleagues, helping them to navigate legislation and stepping up to deputise as the DPO when it matters most.
If you have a solid understanding of data protection in a school setting, excellent organisational skills, and a pragmatic approach to risk, we want you on our team!
The role is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility of working from home, with some travel required to schools when needed.
In return, you will get a full-time, whole-year role (37 hours per week) reporting directly to the Head of Data Protection.
Why us?

Self-help: We do not expect to be spoon fed – we will try to do things for ourselves in the right way and at the right time.

Equality: We are proud to be part of a very multicultural academy, with students from all over the world; it is important that we treat each other with respect and accept that others may be different from ourselves. We should all have equal chances to succeed.
Equity: We want to look for the best in each other. Rewarding others fairly to encourage all types of achievement.
Democracy: We will contribute our ideas to make the academy a success.
Solidarity: We can achieve more by working together, rather than as individuals.
