What skills and experience we're looking for
Art, design & technology is a successful and popular curriculum area at Redland Green School. There is currently a welcoming team of nine teachers and two technicians. We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the flexibility to technically resource and support across all Art & design and DT subject areas at KS3, 4 and 5 working alongside enthusiastic subject specialist teachers.
This role is for a (temporary) lead technician with experience in resourcing and supporting in fine art and design, photography, product design (RM), and textiles. The post would suit an experienced technician, committed to the maintenance and development of technology and creativity, and its place within the curriculum.
The successful candidate will have experience resourcing and supporting across all subjects in art and design and DT. Experience in workshop practice in both wood and metal, including forge work is required. The ability to offer Kiln accreditation would be advantageous. This stated the candidate will be supported in training and developing new skills where necessary to ensure health and safety compliance and the quality of learning and teaching. There is a great deal of experience within the curriculum team. You will be fully supported by staff, who share common values.
