What You'll Be Doing
As our Art Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our art department.
Key duties include:
- Preparing, maintaining, and organising art equipment and materials to support practical lessons.
- Assisting teachers and students during lessons by demonstrating safe equipment use and providing technical advice.
- Ensuring all tools, materials, and facilities meet safety standards and are well-maintained.
- Supporting students’ practical projects and offering feedback to enhance their learning experience.
- Contributing to school-wide events such as exhibitions, open days, and extracurricular activities.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong knowledge of art techniques, tools, and materials, with the ability to handle, modify, and repair equipment.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
- A proactive approach to health and safety, ensuring a secure environment for all practical activities.
- Enthusiasm for supporting young people in their creative pursuits.

Thames Park Secondary School. opened to Year 7 pupils in central Grays in September 2020 as a brand new school. Grays is a vibrant, dynamic, rewarding and inspiring place to work, and enjoys excellent transport links. The area is undergoing large scale redevelopment in Europe as part of the Thames Gateway Development. We are part of a £20+ million building programme and will have excellent, purpose-built accommodation with state of the art specialist equipment and facilities in September 2022. We are the newest school in the Osborne Co-operative Academies Trust which comprises of 12 schools.
