Purpose of the Post: Responsible for providing practical and technical support alongside various administrative services to the Art and Design Technology Faculty. Principal Duties: This list is not designed to be an exhaustive of duties; it is an indication of the likely main duties that will be required to be undertaken. Textiles Pigment dyes mixed and stored Fabric dyes mixed and stored Preparing fabric for printing or batik Preparing/putting away batik pots Print Making Preparation of inks Screens/lino/card/polystyrene prepared Rollers/squeegees assembled Checking cleanliness of all materials after use Ceramics Preparation of clay in advance of classes Mixing of slips/glazes Correct storage of work in progress Packing and unpacking of kiln Firing the Kiln Photography Ensuring all Digital cameras are charged Ensuring all Digital cameras have SD cards Ensuring all Digital cameras work. Three Dimensional Work Preparation in advance of clay / mod roc /wire/papier mache/plaster and their associated tools ICT Creating promotional booklets for GCSE & A-Level shows Knowledge and use of ADOBE Photoshop and Illustrator Scanning, printing and general use of the colour copier Supervision of printouts Helping with any general department technical issues for pupils. Construction/DT Preparation of materials necessary for lessons. Keeping workshops tidy and ensuring they are compliant with H&S requirements. Basic maintenance (oiling, cleaning tec.) of machinery. Food Technology Preparation of materials necessary for lessons. Keeping food technology tidy and ensuring they are compliant with H&S requirements. Deep clean of food technology rooms during school holiday periods. Additional Duties • Creating resources to aide all staff across Fine Art DT Faculty • Helping to supervise the use of materials • Creating orders for supplies and keeping tabs on capitation. • Ensuring that everything is cleaned and put away carefully and in the correct place after use • Ensuring that everything is labelled, maintained and stored in a sensible manner • Keeping a check on stock - both incoming and outgoing • Helping the department to adhere to Health and Safety requirements • Assisting with art displays • Prepare work for year-end exhibitions. (with help of staff) • Assisting with the creation and display of artwork across the school site

Rainhill High School is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form centre located in Rainhill, Merseyside, England.

The school converted to an academy under Rainhill Learning Village in March 2017.

More recently, the school has become part of the Stephenson MAT and was graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in February 2023. The Academy is working hard to make a difference to staff workloads by investing time, technology, and support to make Rainhill High School and Rainhill Sixth an attractive place to work.

Our vision is one of excellence for everyone, pupils and staff. We believe that by working together we can make a positive difference to children’s lives.

Stephenson Trust is currently a single school in a multi academy trust. We have several external partners, including Hope University, Ambition Institute, The Fowler Education Faculty, SSAT, Rainbow teaching school hub and the educational endowment fund.
